ExxonMobil – Qatar Gas II Offshore: Lead topsides electrical engineer during FEED design for three offshore wet-gas/sour-gas wellheads connected by 140kM power and fiber optic cables. Interpreted owner’s requirements for IEC project, directed design efforts and approved drawings. Reviewed SKM fault current, voltage drop and motor starting studies. Responsible for cost estimating and bid package preparation.
Shell MDP South – Colorado: Detailed design of proprietary 480V, zero crossing SCR control switchgear for onshore upstream oil development project. Selected hardware components. Shell MIT – Colorado: Detailed design of 15kV service, substation and distribution for test facility located at 7000 feet elevation with a minimum ambient of -20°F. Conducted fault current analysis, selective device coordination study and motor starting verification using SKM. Developed settings for Basler relays and assisted during construction activities.
ExxonMobil – Zafiro, Xikomba & Falcon EPS FPSO: Topsides electrical verification of detailed design for 100,000 bpd leased FPSO with two 5450kWe gas turbines and two 2200kWe vessel steam turbines. All equipment and installations are IEC with Zoned area classification. Verified design conformance to owner’s specifications and IEC standards. Prepared SKM study to check system fault current, load flow, voltage drop and motor starting. Developed transformer testing plan, performed witness testing and managed re-installation. Developed customer’s new maintenance schedule and execution plan.
Enron Liquids Pipeline – Mont Belvieu, TX storage facility: Study for site re-electrification. Consolidating multiple 15kV services including new substation and new 15kV overhead service.
Power Quality analysis: Conducted facility power quality analysis for Enron customers’ industrial and computer facilities. Developed analysis plans and installed sub-cycle data loggers. Evaluated voltage flicker, VFD failures, harmonic mitigation, RFI and EMI interference. Designed and constructed solutions including medium voltage transfer switches and UPS systems.
